The “Dames” show us all how eating watermelon is done! Watch for some signs of what I call the “spit and swipe” maneuver. An infraction not unlike doping in the Olympics
Enjoy!
Last Saturday Tracy and I went to get a cot at Cabelos. Tracy intends to use the cot this coming week for girls camp. It was to be a simple endeavor really. We found one quickly in the camping area of Cabelos on the second floor. I had it hefted on my shoulder and we were headed down to the cashier when the helpful Cabelos sales guy suggested that we take another cot that was $10 less and a four piece set. It has a nifty coat rack, and a “skirt” with pockets that would hold all your “ssshhhttuufff”. So I relieved myself of the burden of the prior and grabbed the sale priced, “skirted” one. There was a gun show going on so we enjoyed redneck sights whilst we waited in line for 30 minutes. Once at the counter we were informed that the “skirted cot” was actually not the one that was on sale, and it cost $50 more. We found that unacceptable and after some significant discussion at the counter, and enduring the exasperated sighs of all those that were waiting behind, many being lured there by the shortness of the line, having abandoned longer lines for the prospect of a shorter wait in ours, only to find that we were holding up the proceedings by expecting a sale on an item that was not, after all, on sale. We were told that our option was to go to the “Service Desk” where we could order the “skirted” cot, on sale, and it would arrive in a few days. Well we found at the service counter that it would take 10 days at least. I suggested that we could not take the risk as Tracy was to go to girls camp in 10 days. So I invited the sales desk person to carry the non-sale, “skirted” cot back up to the second floor and to retrieve us the one that I have originally. Which they did.
Fast forward a week, Tracy opens the cot only to find that they had omitted to include the carrying case. Again, quite unacceptable. So Kiana and I load it up and head to Cabelos. Great news, no gun show this time…instead it is a gun safe show…lots of camo, mullets and beards…anyway, we go in and to our utter joy we heard that the sale priced, “skirted” cot was in stock! So we boogie to the second floor and we see a crowd of people like animals you would see gathered round the fallen prey on the African safari. There were people loading these cots by 2s and 3s into their arms and shoulders. We push our way to the front only to see one last box sitting on the floor being investigated by an elderly gentleman. I told Kiana….”we are looking at the last cot”. He picked it up and hauled it away…the crowd dispersed. I asked the sales guy if there were any more in the “back”. He says, “I doubt it, but let me look”. So we wait, he comes back with an expected, feigned look of disappointment. We knew already. We had seen the last. The display was still there….hum… I asked, “can we take the display?”. He was most accommodating… So we quickly disassembled it, loaded it, skirt and all into the carrying case…. I paid for it quickly and got it home ASAP. So Tracy does get the “skirted” cot after all…. I hope that skirt makes the difference…time will tell

This will be the first of what we hope will be many posts on the Kenny Bunnell Family blog. We will track all sorts of happenings here. Tracy and I are coming up on 18 years of marriage tomorrow. These have been wonderful years, full of all kinds of adventures. We have four daughters, Kyra fifteen, Kiana thirteen, Kallie ten, and Kamryn five. We currently live in Lehi, Utah, some 20 miles from Salt Lake city.
We stay busy trying to keep up with the girls in their several pursuits, dance, softball, piano, school, track, etc. This site is really designed to stay in better touch with our extended families. Time goes fast and we often find months, and years pass by between times we are able to communicate with everyone.
Coming up this week is girls camp for Tracy, Kyra and Kiana. Tracy is the young women’s president, so she gets the opportunity of going up with Kyra and Kiana. Today we are loading gear and getting them prepared to head up to the Lehi Stake camp above Heber, UT. I will work from home next week and watch Kallie and Kami.
Check back for updates.
